Economic Affairs and Investment
Functions
- Facilitation, formulation and implementation of the Provincial Economic Development Plan.
- Superintend over programs and services that promote and facilitate local and foreign investment in close partnership with the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency.
- Coordinate the implementation of legislation and regulations relating to economic development in the province.
- Oversee the identification, design and facilitation of business projects that attract investment by a combination of small medium and large enterprises for the women, youths and other economic actors within and outside Zimbabwe.
- Oversee the establishment of effective economic governance systems in the province in liaison with relevant line ministry/departments, parastatals, state enterprises and private sector players.
- Coordinate the formulation and implementation of marketing, business and investment attraction strategies for the province.
- Superintend over the formulation of strategies to aid Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth in the province.
- Facilitate stakeholders economic development negotiations for the province and the provision of advice to the Provincial Councils.
- Contribute to the mobilization of the resources and development of budgets and funding strategies for economic development and economic empowerment programs in the province.
- Facilitate sufficient technical input into the procurement of the equipment, services and materials for economic development and economic empowerment programs in the province.
- Facilitate the maintenance of an integrated data base on economic development and economic empowerment program and projects in the province.
