Driving Research, Innovation and Industrialisation for a better world

Though young, NUST is one university with giant footprints. Our researchers, academics and students collaborate with industry, government, non-governmental organisations, and other leading institutions to solve real societal problems and transform lives. Our research and innovations contribute significantly to public policy formation and set agenda on national discourses. Known for offering the most trusted and affordable applied genetics testing services popularly known as DNA Testing in the country, NUST, through the Innovation Hub and Research and Internationalisation Office, leads in ground-breaking research towards sustainable development and achievement of Vision 2030 of upper middle-income economy in Zimbabwe. As leaders of human capital development for industrial and socio-economic transformation, our research as well as services and outputs are strictly monitored internally by the Institutional Research and Quality Management office and relevant national, regional and international bodies. Through our Core TeleInfrastructure Global Capsule, the first of its kind in Africa, we accelerate global multidisciplinary research collaboration in the continent.

Community Responsive

As part of our community outreach programme and efforts to mainstream a STEM culture, we offer disadvantaged high school students an opportunity to engage with learned academics towards better understanding of the challenging science subjects through our NUST Schools Enrichment Programme (NUSTSEP). This ensures that Zimbabweans enjoy inclusive and equitable education through promotion of life-long learning opportunities for all, as mandated by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Goal 4: Quality Education.
